AMA: Tell me about your average begining
AMA: What is amazing about your life right now?
AMA: To what do you attribute your success?
AMA: What negative thoughts have you had to overcome?
AMA: Describe some of your defining moments or anything that has had a lasting impact on you.
My favorite Bible verse is Psalm 139:14: I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. I had a math teacher in high school who always quoted this verse to me (I wasn’t that great at math!). To me, this verse is a confirmation that each one of us was made to do something amazing. The thing to remember is that MY amazing is different from YOUR amazing. We all have unique gifts and talents. The trick is finding what makes your heart sing and going for it.
AMA: Who are the influential people in your life?
My mom has been a very influential person in my life. She has served as an example of perseverance and faith. She is also very honest with me and has no problem telling me what she really thinks. I’ll never forget one of the first craft shows I sold my art at. A lady came in the booth and was praising my art and asked if my mom and I worked together to create it. My mom’s response? “No Holly makes the art, but I made her so I should get some credit!”
AMA: Do you have any mantras or winning thoughts?
AMA: What are some ordinary tasks you still have to complete?
AMA: How did you get to where you are?
AMA: Which of the five defining qualities was most instrumental to your success?
HC: My faith has been a driving force in my life. Another one of my favorite verses is Psalm 121:1-2: “I lift my eyes to the hills, where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the maker of heaven and earth.” These verses have carried me through difficult times in my life, and through times when I wasn’t sure what my next steps would be. When I started painting, it was natural for the messages on my art to be rooted in Bible verses and hymns. I have many roles in my life, but first and foremost I am His child. After that I am a mom, teacher, artist, and friend--all hats I wear because He has enabled me to do so.
